Saturday, I lost my cell phone. Whether it fell out of my pocket and was taken or if it was lifted from my pocket doesn’t matter; what matters is what I learned from this experience. Please write down your iCloud password in multiple safe places. Do NOT assume that you will remember it or that having it in your notes app is sufficient. It isn’t! I, unfortunately, changed my password last month, the password that I had memorized for years was changed because of data breach concerns. This new password that I thought I would remember, when it was absolutely necessary to remember it, I could not. I had to wait 24 hours to be able to reset my iCloud password because I didn’t have my apple watch on me, nor did I have any other apple devices. I was inpatient and kept checking how much time I would have left to wait. Do NOT do this, this will keep extending the time you have to wait. When I got to the 24 hours, I was sent an email saying that I would not be able to change it for 3 days. Apple support can not help you, you have to wait. Poor Apple support guy had to deal with my tears after that 3 day email. So now I wait… I did buy a new phone, but because of the lack of password, I can’t access any of my information nor my apps. Let me tell you, it has been one first world problem after another, but I’m surviving, barely. The worst is that I haven’t been able to kick my old phone off my iCloud, so I wait, and pray that everything will work out and that my face id and passcode keep my phone and data safe!

Learn from my mistake, keep your passwords in multiple SAFE places!!!
